HAPPY & SAD

so yesterday was emily's first day in nursery. she could have gone a month and a half ago, but she was sick and we were out of town and what not. well, i really didn't know what to expect because ryan would never go to nursery. as soon as i took her through the door, she was off. no bye-byes, hugs, or anything! that made me sad, but at the same time i was so glad. yeah, now i get to enjoy sunday school and relief society. i won't know how to act every week. i really can't believe how fast these kids grow up! i am so sad to see emily get older. she has been such a good baby. she is starting to tell me "no" a lot when i tell her to do things, and is throwing fits every once in a while. i guess it is about time for the terrible 2's. look out here comes em....

HOME AGAIN HOME AGAIN

well, we got home yesterday from our fun family vacation. i am so impressed with my kids. they were so good the entire time, from the plane ride there to the plane ride home. the first 3 days we spent in ocala with our friends and their 2 little boys. they live on an acre of land, and are surrounded by horses, goats, and cows. the kids had fun running around and feeding the goats. i had fun because i got to go to olrando and do some good shopping. a vacation is not a vacation to me unless there is shopping involved (seriously). darrel hates to shop, so i usually don't get to do much at all. this time i got to do lots because he was happy spending time with arron while mallie and i spent some money. then monday, we took the kids to daytona beach. they had fun playing in the ocean and the sand. it's neat there because you get to park right on the beach. after the beach we headed off to our "otella" as ryan calls it (i think he got confused because we were staying in ocala at a hotel and just maybe thought we were saying otella...) in orlando. tuesday started our disney fun. we went to epcot first. i was so bummed because ryan was less than 1/4 inch from the required 40 inches for most of the fun rides. they are very strict about that rule! we still had fun. after epcot we went to the magic kingdom. it is almost identical to disneyland. it wasn't too busy. i think we only had to wait 20 mins at the most for the rides. we had a full 13 hour day of fun! the next day we started out at the animal kingdom. it was very crowded, so we went on 2 rides and headed over to hollywood studios. we did lunch with a bunch of the disney character from different shows. the kids freaked out every time one came over to our table. it was fun for darrel and me to watch their reactions (are we mean parents or what?). after lunch we went back to the magical kingdom. there we hardly any lines at all! it was nice to not have to wait. by the end of the 2nd day we were all exhausted! i can't believe that ryan and emily kept up with us the whole time (or vice versa), and did not even have any melt downs (or vice versa ;>). this was my first time going to disney world. we did have a great time, but i don't think i will be going back any time soon. i don't know if it because i am used to it, but i like disneyland better. and besides that, it's much easier to get to! my favorite part of the whole trip was the first day at disney, when we were leaving epoct. i was holding emily's hand while we were walking out. ryan then needed to hold her hand and then daddy's hand to. we were all lined up holding hands walking out and ryan said, "mommy are we such a happy family?" i just thought that was so sweet.

this was our fun lunch with the different characters. doesn't ryan look like he did when he was a little baby?

this was em's favorite ride. the whole time is was going she would just giggle. as we were getting off she would wave at the horses and say "bye bye" then tell me "ride, gain" there was never a line for this ride so we got to go on it over and over.

AND MORE

this is one of my favorite pictures. my two sweetest kiddos in the whole world! i really love how well they are getting along lately.

"cheese"
the 3 of us in front of "white" (as emily called it) and the 7 dwarfs. they had bushes like these in shapes of pretty much all of the disney characters. they are pretty cool.
emily had to point out every time she saw someone wearing a hat, or someone with a crazy hair color. she would sign hat and say hat or point to the persons hair and say hair. she also loved all the little girls dressed up like princesses. she would point to them and say "preee" it will be fun when she is older so she can dress up too.

this was ryan's favorite ride! he rode it 7 times. i went on it with him once, and i told him i was scared so he needed to hold my hand. he held his hands in the air the whole ride through every time, except for the time he went with me, he made sure to hold my hand (he did keep his other hand in the air).

A FEW MORE

every night when i check on em, she always has this shirt on her right arm. no other shirt will do right now either. when i take her out of bed in the morning she wants me to get her "sleeve" she calls it, then her babies. what a nut!
so last night darrel and the kids decided they wanted to go swimming. the pool was only about 79 degrees (WAY to cold for me! i will be able to swim in a week or so when it is back up into the high 80's). while we were grilling our steaks darrel turned on the waterfall, and emily freaked out because she wanted to get in the "bath." once she had the opportunity she thought it was too cold too. she sat on the edge and kicked her feet and kept signing cold. ryan was shivering the whole time, but didn't care. he is such a good little swimmer. i bet he will be able to loose the floaties in the next month or so. especially if he continues to be as brave as he was last year. he loves to dive off the edge of the pool and pick up the dive rings. emily went swimming a lot last summer, but she was still too little to wear the floaties. i bet she will pick it up quick too, because she loves the water so much.

BEST BUDDIES

ryan and emily have been playing so well together lately. it is so nice that they can entertain one another. ryan will come up to me and say, "mommy, i am playing with my sister emily." and emily is always saying "ryn" i am so happy that they love each other so much (they still have their moments, but for the most part it's good).

they sit in this chair next to each other all the time.

they go outside and play everyday. this is their favorite place to sit and dig for "treasure" as ryan calls it. they other day the were sitting in this exact spot for no less than an hour... no joke! they would rather play in the rocks and the dirt than just in the sandbox alone.

ryan has been so into monsters lately. he comes up with all sorts of different friendly, scary, bouncy, happy, sad, etc. monsters. they actually are pretty cute, and pretty detailed for a 3 year old i think. he draws them on every square inch of the patio he can get to.

i love this one because of it's open mouth and the tongue sticking out of it's open mouth. i forget what he called this one, but it looks like it could be right out of a cartoon or something.

this one is his centipede monster. cute huh?
