LIFE

for the past few weeks every time i tell ryan to do something he doesn't want to do i get the same three responses. the 1st time i tell him, he says "no" and then says he needs to do totally the opposite of what i just said. like when i tell him he needs quiet time he says no i need loud time. when i tell him the second time he says "no, i need to get a life." this cracks me up and i have no idea where he got that. the third time he says "no i need to be sorry." i didn't understand why he said this until today... when he asks to do something i don't want him to i say "i'm sorry we aren't going to do that right now." it's funny how their minds work. i am just getting tired of him being so contrary! ryan is now officially potty trained (except at night). he will run in the bathroom and go potty without me even telling or asking him to. it's so nice not having to change 100 diapers a day! last night at about 3am our house alarm went off. it scared me to death! both of the kids starting crying and darrel went to turn it off. i didn't want to leave the room because i thought someone was trying to break in. come to find out it was ryan trying to get into the garage to get his 3rd lizzy out of the car. he didn't go back to bed forever because he was scared of the "bird monster in the garage that says tweet tweet in an angry voice." their imaginations are amazing. ryan is also into doing arts and crafts. he loves using his "safety scissors" as he calls them because thats what it said on the package, and his "school glue." he has to use his mouth when he cuts and draws just like his uncle john. he has gotten to be such a good little guy and we have so much fun together.

my little mommy

emily loves all of her babies so much! she has to have them all in her bed at night, and she has to take all of them out in the morning. she will put all of her babies she can find in the big chair and then climb right in next to them. the babies in the high chair with her was a one time occasion- too messy! she also puts them in her stroller so she can take them along wherever she goes in the house. it's so cute. the other day we went to the park and i was laughing so hard while em was going down this bumpy slide. the whole way down she was saying "wee wee". she literally had to push herself down and she kept getting stuck, but she must have liked it because she kept doing it. the other day she went pee pee on the potty (yeah emily), and today she told me "poop", and sure enough she was dirty. she seems to young to me to already know her bodily functions.

book tag

o.k. so i am not reading a book right now and the book that happens to be laying on my desk right here is what to expect when you're expecting. it is penny's book and i've had it forever. i feel so bad. i took it off my bookshelf to give back to her and i keep forgetting. maybe i will remember before her baby is born.
so here it is;
so stop worrying and start taking action. follow the best-odds diet, and observe the recommendations about weight gain on page 147 and exercise on page 189. with attention to diet and exercise now, you can look better than ever after pregnancy, because you will have learned how to take optimum care of your body.

i don't have anyone to tag, so this will end with me i guess.

HUSBAND TAG

ok lisa here it is. i think it is kinda silly for me to be doing this because i think that you, kristy, and maybe john and naima are the only ones who look at my blog... here ya go

What is his name?
darrel alan hager

How long have you been married?
4 years

How long did you date?
we did the long distance dating thing for 6 years. broke up for about a year. got back together and dated for about 2 months, got engaged, then married 3 months after that. we will have known each other for 11 years in march. that's a long time but, it was definitely meant to be!

How old is he?
39

Who eats more?
darrel

Who said "I love you" first?
it was so long ago i really can't remember, but maybe him (in a round about way of saying it).

Who is taller?
darrel

Who sings better?
without a doubt, darrel. he actually has a really good voice (even singing hard rock:-))

Who is smarter?
well, i would have to say darrel is very book smart and knows little useless facts about pretty much everything, but when it comes to common sense issues it would have to be me!

Whose temper is worse?
probably mine. darrel only looses his temper when i am really angry.

Who does the laundry?
i won't let him do it anymore! he seems to ruin something every time he does.

Who does the dishes?
darrel would say the dishwasher does them. it irritates me when he says that. it still takes time to load and unload the dishwasher, and to do the hand dishes.

Who sleeps on the right side of the bed?
if you are looking at the bed, i sleep on the right side (to be a little bit closer to the bathroom).

Who mows the lawn?
darrel... i have never mowed the lawn, and i'd like to keep it that way!

Who cooks dinner?
i do. i love to cook!

Who drives when you are together?
darrel does all the driving, and i like it like that (i HATE driving).

Who is more stubborn?
that's a toss up. i think it depends on the situation.

Who is the first to admit when they are wrong?
usually him, because he is always the one who is wrong ;-)

Whose parents do you see the most?
his. they live 3 miles away from us.

Who proposed?
darrel did, and i was so not expecting it! i was being such a brat when he was trying to make things special. he gave up trying and just asked me if i would marry him. the first words out of my mouth were "are you serious?" i was so surprised. i did eventually say yes.

Who has more friends?
darrel has more friends out of state, i have more friends in state

Who has more siblings?
darrel has 2 sisters and 2 brothers, i have 2 brothers and 1 sister

Who wears the pants in the family?
hum this is a tough one. i really can't say for sure. i think we are pretty equal in this department. we just wear them differently.

I DON'T LIKE TO POST PICS OF MYSELF BUT....

so notice anything different? i think i look so totaly different! the crazy thing is, is that no one has even noticed. darrel had to point it out to his parents and brother. none of my friends, that i see almost everyday, have said anything to me. maybe it because they don't like it. i like it but i look so much younger. that's ok now that i will be on the other side of 35-YIKES!

my little princess! she is so sweet i just want to eat her up. she loves to give me really tight squeezes and she says um um um while doing it. i bought her some panties the other day and was telling her how she wears these instead of diapers and she pointed to her diaper and said "diaper" i asked if she wanted to try them on and she took her pants off and started with her diaper. i put them on her and she was so proud of herself. when i went to take them off her she freaked out! i am not pushing her to potty train but i thought it might encourage ryan, and i will already be cleaning up messes.. to what the heck it won't hurt. she may be trained before him. who knows. i can't believe she will be starting nursery in less than 2 months. yesterday in relief society during the opening song i was reading something and she wondered off. she went to the front of the room and was dancing for everyone. she is a dancing fool. all through sacrament she would have to dance to every song. every time she hears music she dances. i can't wait to put her in dance lessons. i guess i can wait because i don't want her to grow up so fast. i love my sweet girl!!!!!!

yesterday was ryan's 2nd week in primary. last week i had to stay with him the whole time because he was being such a stinker!!!! there were a few things that calmed him down a bit. one being the chorister teaches sign language with some of the songs. that really got his attention. his teacher is so great with him. she is a first grade teacher and she caught on really fast that ryan could read everything she was holding up. well, yesterday i took him to the primary room and told him to wait there while i looked for his teacher. i found his teacher and told her if she needed me to come and get me. the whole time i was so worried that he was going to throw one of his fits. when church was over i was amazed that no one had to come and get me. his teacher said he was so good! and she was also telling me how he reads better than over half of her first graders. that made me feel so proud of him that i almost cried (not so much that he reads but that he was so good for her). they passes out "ctr" rings to all the sunbeams and i was asking him if he knew what ctr meant. i said it means choose the right and he said "yeah we should never choose the left." it took me a second to figure out what he meant and then i laughed so hard! he likes opposites right now. the other day he said "mommy cold is my favorite opposite" and he wants to do the opposite of everything i tell him. he is growing up way too fast! i just wish he would slow down....... man, i love that little boy!!!!!!

i love my little family so much! i feel like the luckiest person in the whole world! i don't know what i would do without darrel, or the kids. we had such a good time in slc. i can't believe that we were there for almost 2 weeks. it's crazy how time goes by so fast when you are having fun. it was so good to have all the cousins together. it has been a long time since they were all together. it is neat to see the different dynamics that they have with one another. i love the fact that they are so close in age and enjoy doing the same things. they are just growing up so fast, i wish they would slow down. being around my whole family makes me realize how much i miss everyone, and what a great family we have! thanks again to everyone for all their thoughtful gifts, and for making our time in slc so much fun! we love you all so much!!!!!!!!!

lisa and kristy this is for you.....

we got to go to a taping of good things utah. it was so much fun. i would love to go and do it again some time. they even showed us on t.v. i think we are famous now!

grandma can we help?

oh so cute...

ADDICTED?!?!?!?

hailey, ethan, and ryan kept taking turns playing leapster and super "marnio" bros (as ryan calles it). it's amazing how fast they catch on.... i still don't know how to play.

LET IT SNOW....

ryan, ethan, and hailey had so much fun playing in the snow. ryan keeps talking about the tunnel and fort that john and naima helped him make.
